Youth homelessness crisis: Lack of immediate emergency housing and support coordination

Young people in NSW are experiencing homelessness at rapidly increasing rates (tripling to 3.7%), but face critical gaps in emergency shelter access, case management coordination, and pathway services to stable housing. Current nonprofit and government systems are overwhelmed and fragmented, leaving vulnerable youth without rapid response mechanisms to prevent street homelessness or facilitate quick transitions to safe accommodation.
