Music notation software lacks intuitive variable slicing and note manipulation syntax

LilyPond users struggle to efficiently extract and manipulate subsets of notes from stored musical variables, forcing them to manually rewrite passages or use workarounds that break their workflow. Current LilyPond syntax doesn't support clean slicing operations on quoted note sequences, making complex compositions with repeated patterns tedious and error-prone to edit.
