Focus stacking produces blurry, unusable results on deep depth-of-field landscape photography

Photographers attempting focus stacking on wide scenes (like long boulevards) get blurry, misaligned final images despite using correct technique. Current camera autofocus systems and focus stacking workflows fail to handle extreme depth-of-field scenarios where subjects span from foreground to distant background, forcing photographers to either accept poor image quality or abandon the shot entirely.
