Musicians struggle to develop ear training skills to identify chord functions by listening alone

Musicians and music students lack a practical method to train their ears to recognize chord functions (tonic, dominant, subdominant) within progressions by sound alone. Current music education relies heavily on visual notation and theory, leaving learners unable to identify harmonic function through listening, which limits their ability to transcribe, improvise, and understand music intuitively. Existing ear training tools are generic and don't specifically target functional harmony recognition.
